The ADXL313WACPZ is a small, thin, low-power 3-axis accelerometer with high resolution (13-bit) and a measurement range of up to ±4 g. The digital output data is in 16-bit binary-complement format and can be accessed through the Serial Port Interface (SPI) (3-wire or 4-wire) or I2C digital interface.
The ADXL313WACPZ is well suited for car alarm or black box applications. It can measure static gravitational acceleration in tilt detection applications, as well as dynamic acceleration due to motion or shock. The device features high-resolution (1024 LSB/g) and low-noise (150 μg/√Hz) performance, and is capable of resolving tilt angle changes as small as 0.1°. The built-in FIFO facilitates the use of oversampling techniques to increase the inclination resolution to 0.025°.
The device offers a variety of built-in detection functions. Motion and non-motion detection functions detect if motion is occurring and if the acceleration on any axis exceeds a user-set limit. These functions can be mapped to interrupt output pins. An integrated 32-level FIFO can be used to store data, reducing host processor intervention to a greater extent and lowering system power consumption.
The low-power mode supports intelligent motion-based power management for threshold sensing and motion acceleration measurements with very low power consumption.
The ADXL313WACPZ is available in a small, ultra-thin, 5 mm × 5 mm × 1.45 mm, 32-pin LFCSP package that is pin-compatible with the ADXL312 accelerometer.
