The MAX25500AUMA/V is a 4 x 24 channel modular matrix backlight driver for locally dimmable automotive displays. The integrated current outputs can each handle up to 72mA of light emitting diode (LED) current. The source drive pins provide current to the columns of the matrix in a multiplexed manner. The device is powered from an external 3.3V or 5V supply, and the LED current sink outputs can operate at voltages up to 14V. The device is programmed using the serial peripheral interface (SPI), allowing for a high degree of flexibility. Programmable parameters include LED current, individual pulse width modulation (PWM) settings, multiplexing ratio, and more.
