The MCT8316Z0TQRGFRQ1 provides a single-chip, code-free induction ladder solution for customers driving 12-V brushless DC motors in automobiles. The integration of three 1/2-H bridges with 40 V absolute maximum capability and ultra-low RDS(ON) of 95 mOhms (HV-side and LV-side combined) enables high power drive capability. Current detection uses an integrated current detection function, eliminating the need for external detection resistors. The power management functions of the adjustable buck regulator and LDO generate the necessary voltage rails for the device and can power external circuits.

The MCT8316Z0TQRGFRQ1 implements inductive trapezoidal control in a fixed-function state machine, thus eliminating the need for an external microcontroller to rotate a brushless DC motor. The device integrates three analogue Hall comparators for position sensing to implement inductive ladder brushless DC motor control. The control scheme is highly configurable via hardware pins or register settings, including motor current limit behaviour and fault response. Speed can be controlled via the PWM input.
