VIPERGAN65TR - Advanced quasi-resonant off-line high voltage converter with E-type GaN HEMT

Overview:

The VIPERGAN65TR is a high voltage converter for medium power quasi-resonant ZVS (zero voltage switch when switch on) flyback converters that provide up to 65 W of output power over a wide range.

The device integrates a complete set of functions and is an extremely flexible and easy-to-use chip that helps design efficient offline power supplies. The ZVS quasi-resonant operation mode features a dynamic blanking time function and trough synchronization that always turns on the power switch at the trough of the drain resonance, reducing switching losses and maximizing overall efficiency under any input line and load conditions. Advanced low static power management helps achieve low standby power consumption. Feedforward compensation minimizes the maximum output peak power variation over the entire input voltage range.

In addition to the above features, the device has a number of protection features that significantly improve the safety and reliability of the final product. These include: output overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection (OTP), overload protection (OLP), overvoltage/undervoltage protection (setting the input voltage level to switch the converter on and off), and input overvoltage protection (iOVP to protect the system in the event of an overvoltage anomaly on the input line). All protection functions are automatically restarted.
