STNRG328S: Digital controller for STC/HSTC topologies

Description:

The STNRG328S digital controller (for STC/HSTC open-loop resonant converters) is designed for power conversion. The device performs power conversion in the typical input voltage range of 40V to 60V, with a programmable conversion ratio of 2:1 to 10:1 for the output voltage, a fixed duty cycle and a programmable frequency of 140kHz to 300kHz.

The STNRG328S digital controller supports 500W to 2KW output power and has very high efficiency over a wide load range, with a peak efficiency of 98.4%.

State machine event Driver (SMED) performs important functions to ensure that all STC/HSTC control functions are normal. SMED drives the ZCD (Zero Current Detection) function to manage dead time and switching frequency for perfect LC resonance and maximum efficiency regardless of external component changes. The STNRG328S firmware is specifically designed to program SMED and implement control strategies.

The STNRG328S is combined with the STPRDC02A gate driver (designed for STC applications) and the hot-swappable circuit (usually an electronic fuse) to avoid damage during hot-swappable input 48V bus.
