The MCP22350T-1I/Q8X USB Type-C™ power supply (PD) 3.1 port controller is designed as a supporting PD controller for external Microchip MCUS/SoCs. This controller complies with the USB Type-C™ cable and connector specification as well as the USB PD 3.1 specification. It has the following key features:

The MCP22350T-1I/Q8X highly integrated small-sized PD port controller can provide cable plug orientation and detection for USB Type-C sockets. These controllers achieve baseband communication with the USB Type-C devices of partners through the integration of USB PD 3.1 MAC. The MCP22350T-1I/Q8X controller includes eight configurable general-purpose I/O pins, and the standby mode can be negotiated using the PD 3.1 protocol via the USB Type-C connector. These controllers can be selected between two external 3.3V power supplies (VBUS and main power supply) by using an integrated power switch to support the situation of battery depletion.
