The LAN9646T-I/MXX Ethernet switch is a fully integrated managed Layer 2, 6-port gigabit Ethernet switch with advanced features. This switch has four ports that support 10/100/1000Mbps PHY, and the other two can be configured as SGMII, RGMII, MII or RMII interfaces to connect to the host processor or external PHY. The LAN9646T-I/MXX can fully access the registers via SPI, I2C or optional in-band management (via any data port), and the MIM interface provides access to the PHY registers.

Security features include authentication based on IEEE 802.1X ports and ACL filtering. The LAN9646T-I/MXX also supports power management functions such as Energy Saving Ethernet (EEE) to achieve an energy-saving environment.
