The UPD301A/KYX is a standalone small USB Type-C® Power Transfer (PD) port controller that complies with the USB Type-C cable and Connector specification and the USB Power Delivery 3.0 specification. The UPD301A provides independent operation for Power PD applications, supports cable plug positioning and detection of USB Type-C sockets, and enables baseband communication with partner USB Type-C devices through the integrated USB Power Delivery 3.0 MAC.
