The ADV7180WBST48Z can automatically detect standard analogue baseband television signals compatible with global NTSC, PAL, and SECAM standards and convert them into 4:2:2 component video data compatible with the 8-bit ITU-R.656 interface standard.

Using a simple digital output interface, it can seamlessly connect with various MPEG encoders, codecs, mobile video processors, and ADI's digital video encoders (such as the ADV7391, etc.). If required, external HS, VS, and FIELD signals can provide timing references for LCD controllers and other video ASICs. For consumer electronics applications requiring true 8-bit data resolution, precise 10-bit analogue-to-digital conversion delivers professional-quality video performance. Three analogue video input channels accept standard composite video signals, S-video signals, or component video signals, supporting a wide range of consumer video sources. AGC and clamp-reset circuits enable the input video signal peak-to-peak range to reach 1.0 V. Alternatively, these circuits can be bypassed to enable manual settings.

Even with line length deviations of ±5%, the line-locked clock output ensures synchronous, asynchronous, or line-locked output data rates, timing signals, and output clock signals. The output control signals enable seamless interface connections in many applications. The ADV7180WBST48Z is programmed via a two-wire serial bidirectional port (I2C® compatible) and is manufactured using a 1.8 V CMOS process. The single-chip CMOS architecture ensures more functionality at lower power consumption.
