SE98ATP is a digital temperature sensor designed by NXP for DDR2/DDR3/DDR4 memory modules compliant with the JEDEC-JC42.4 standard. It features an 8-pin HWSON package (2 mm × 3 mm) and is directly soldered onto the DIMM board to monitor the temperature of DRAM chips in real time, providing data for system thermal management, fan speed control, safe underclocking, or emergency shutdown.

• Complies with JEDEC Class B specifications: typical error of ±0.5 °C in the 75 °C to 95 °C range, with a maximum of ±1 °C
• 11-bit ADC with a resolution of 0.125 °C and an update rate of 8 Hz
• Open-drain EVENT pin, configurable as a temperature control comparator or interrupt output, supporting three events: over-temperature, under-temperature, and critical temperature
• Shutdown current only 0.1 µA, operating current 250 µA (typical)
• I²C/SMBus interface, clock 0 Hz-400 kHz, built-in SMBus TIMEOUT anti-lockup
• Three address pins, up to 8 devices can be connected to a single bus
• ESD protection: HBM 2 kV, MM 250 V, CDM 1 kV; passed JESD78 100 mA lock test
