Product Description

The L6482HTR device, using analogue mixed-signal technology, is an advanced, fully integrated solution for microstepping two-phase bipolar stepper motors.


The L6482HTR integrates a dual full-bridge gate driver for the N-channel MOSFET power stage with embedded non-dissipative overcurrent protection. Thanks to a new current control, 1/16 microstepping is achieved through an adaptive attenuation mode that outperforms conventional implementations. The digital control core generates user-defined motion profiles and is easily programmable for acceleration, deceleration, velocity or target position via a dedicated register set. All application instructions and data registers, including those for setting analogue values (i.e. current protection trip points, dead time, PWM frequency, etc.), are sent via standard 5-Mbit/s SPI. Extensive protection features (thermal, low bus voltage, overcurrent, and motor stall protection) make the L6482 device ‘bulletproof’ for the most demanding motor control applications.
