The DS28E16Q Secure Authenticator combines FIPS202-compliant Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA-3) polling and response authentication with secure EEPROM.
The DS28E16Q device provides a core set of cryptographic tools including a SHA-3 engine, 256-bit secure EEPROM, decrementing counter, and a unique 64-bit ROM identification number (ROM ID). The unique ROM ID is used as a basic input parameter for cryptographic operations and as an electronic serial number in applications. The devices communicate over a single-contact 1-Wire® bus. The communication is based on the 1-Wire protocol and the ROM ID serves as the node address in a multi-device 1-Wire network.
