The DS2465P is a SHA-256 coprocessor with a built-in 1-Wire® master controller that provides the SHA-256 and memory functions required for the host system to communicate with and operate 1-Wire SHA-256 slave devices. In addition, the device performs protocol translation between the I²C master controller and any connected 1-Wire SHA-256 slave devices. For 1-Wire line drivers, the chip's internal user-adjustable timer frees the system's main processor from cumbersome 1-Wire waveform timing control, supporting both standard and high-speed 1-Wire communications. the 1-Wire bus can be shut down via software control. A strong pull-up feature powers 1-Wire devices such as EEPROMs through the 1-Wire bus. When not in use, the DS2465P can be placed in sleep mode to reduce power consumption.
