The SC18IS604PWJ can be used as an interface between the standard SPI and serial I2C buses of a host computer (microcontroller, microprocessor, chipset, etc.). It allows the host to communicate directly with other I2C bus devices.The SC18IS604PWJ is used as an I2C bus controller transmitter or controller receiver.The SC18IS604PWJ controls all I2C bus specific sequences, protocols, arbitration and timing.
The SC18IS604 is a functional replacement for the SC18IS600 with the following exceptions: new pin outputs, 255-byte or 96-byte transmit and receive buffers, three instead of four general-purpose IOs but no longer in quasi-bidirectional mode, operating supply voltages as low as 1.71 V or 2.4 V, and a temperature range of -40 to 105°C or -40 to 85°C. The SC18IS604PWJ is an I2C bus controller transmitter or controller receiver.
