The MAX77958DEWV is a reliable USB Type-C CC detection and power supply (PD) protocol implementation solution. The device uses Type-C CC detection and USB PD messages to detect connected accessories or devices.

The MAX77958DEWV includes an I2C host capable of performing read and write operations to other devices in the system, so its firmware is able to configure the relevant devices on its own without assistance from the host processor. For example, an external charger can be configured based on BC1.2 detection, CC detection, and PD communication.

The MAX77958DEWV has an interrupt output pin that reports event detection and status changes. There is also an I2C interface that can be used to read/write and configure internal registers.

The MAX77958DEWV has nine configurable GPIOs that can be used for detection or as interrupt pins, external device enable/disable pins, or as ADC inputs.
