Overview:

The MAX77958EWV is a reliable USB Type-C CC detect and power supply (PD) protocol implementation solution. The device uses Type-C CC detection and USB PD messages to detect connected accessories or devices. The IC protects the device from overvoltage and overcurrent and detects humidity conditions to prevent corrosion of the USB Type-C connector. The IC also provides D+/D- USB switching and BC1.2 detection to support legacy USB standards. It includes a VCONN switch for USB PD and an enable pin for an external VCONN boost or buck converter, and after USB PD coordination is complete, the IC can configure alternative mode settings for an external multiplexer.
