The STMicroelectronics STPSC20H12WL 1200V Schottky silicon carbide diode is a high-performance rectifier specifically designed for use in photovoltaic inverters.The STPSC is capable of operating at high frequencies, has low switching losses and ultra-fast switching independent of temperature, thus helping to increase inverter output by up to 2 %. Compared to bipolar diodes, SiC diodes generate up to 70 per cent less losses. The robust peripheral improves the performance of the entire converter under AC line surge voltages. the centre lead of the DPAK package has been removed to meet the requirements of IEC 60664 and UL 840 standards for higher voltages. Thanks to these features, the device is a best-in-class 1200V diode.
