The AD9854ASVZ digital frequency synthesizer is a highly integrated suite that uses advanced DDS technology, plus two internal high-speed, high-performance orthogonal Dacs, to form digitally programmable I and Q frequency synthesizer capabilities. The AD9854 generates highly stable frequency, phase, and amplitude-programmable sine and cosine outputs for use as agile LO in communications, radar, and many other applications when benchwritten against a precise clock source. The AD9854's innovative high-speed DDS core offers 48-bit frequency resolution (1 μHz tuning resolution when using 300 MHz SYSCLK). Maintaining 16-bit resolution for phase-to-amplitude conversion ensures excellent spury-free dynamic range (SFDR).
The circuit architecture of the AD9854ASVZ allows the generation of synchronous orthogonal output signals at frequencies up to 150 MHz, and the ability to digitally tune these output signals at new frequencies up to 100 million times per second. For agile clock generator applications, the (externally filtered) sine wave output can be converted to a square wave by an internal comparator. This kit provides two 14-bit phase registers and a single pin for BPSK operations.
