The LT3942EUFD is a single-chip 4-switch synchronous buck-boost LED driver that regulates LED string current up to 34V at input voltages above, below or equal to the output voltage. The driver regulates LED string current up to 34V at input voltages above, below or equal to the output voltage.The proprietary peak buck/peak boost current mode control scheme supports adjustable and synchronisable 300kHz to 2MHz fixed frequency operation or internal 25% delta spread operation for reduced EMI.The LT3942EUFD features 3V to 36V input and 0V to 36V output, and supports seamless low noise transitions between operating regions, making it ideal for LED driver applications in automotive, industrial and battery powered systems.

The LT3942EUFD provides LED current regulation using an optional high-side PMOS switch, enabling internal and external PWM dimming of up to 128:1 and 5000:1. The CTRL pin provides flexible 20:1 analogue dimming with 2.5% LED current regulation accuracy at 100mV full scale. A robust fail-safe mechanism detects LED open or short conditions, during which the LT3942 will retry, latch or remain in operation.
