The TMS320C5533AZAY10 device is a member of TI's C5000 fixed-point digital signal processor (DSP) product family for low-power applications.

The fixed-point DSPs are based on the TMS320C55x DSP family of CPU processor cores. The C55x DSP architecture delivers high performance and low power consumption through increased parallelism and a focus on energy efficiency. The CPU supports an internal bus structure consisting of a programme bus, a 32-bit read bus and two 16-bit data read buses, two data write buses and additional buses dedicated to peripherals and DMA operations. These buses enable up to four 16-bit data reads and two 16-bit data writes in a single cycle. The device also contains four DMA controllers, each with four channels, providing data movement in a 16-channel independent environment without CPU intervention. Each DMA controller performs one 32-bit data transfer per cycle, which is parallel to and independent of CPU operation.
