The MC10XS4200BFKR2 device belongs to the 24 V dual high voltage side switch product family with integrated control, extensive protection and diagnostic features. It is designed for truck, bus and industrial applications. The low RDS(ON) channel (<10 mΩ) allows control of different load types: light bulbs, solenoids or DC motors. Control, device configuration and diagnostics are performed via a 16-bit serial peripheral interface (SPI) for easy integration into existing applications. The device uses SMARTMOS technology.

Both channels can be individually controlled via external or internal clock signals or direct inputs. The use of an internal clock allows the device to operate completely autonomously. The programmable output voltage slew rate (individually programmable) contributes to improved electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performance. To avoid shutting down the device during inrush currents while closely tracking the load current, the device employs a dynamic overcurrent threshold curve. The switching current of each channel can be sensed by a programmable sense ratio. Whenever communication with the external microcontroller is interrupted, the device enters a fail-safe mode of operation, but can still be operated, controlled, and protected.
