The BQ24725 is a high-efficiency, synchronous battery charger that offers reduced component count space-constrained, multi-chemistry battery charging applications. Two charge pumps are used to drive N-channel MOSFETs (ACFET, RBFET and BATFET) for automatic system power supply selection. The SMBus control input current, charge current and charge voltage DACs enable high-gauge precision power management microcontrollers that can be programmed by the system.

The charge current is reduced using the internal input current register or PWM modulation throttled by the external ILIM pin. Charge two, three or four series of Li+ cells and use 20 pins, 3.5 x 3.5mm2.
