The LTC3256IMSE is a wide input range switched capacitor step-down DC/DC converter that produces two regulated outputs: a 5V output via a direct connection to the charge pump output, and a 3.3V output via a low dropout (LDO) connection. The device can provide up to 350mA total output current. At 12V VIN and maximum load conditions on both outputs, power consumption is reduced by more than 2W compared to dual LDO regulators. Efficiency is maximised by running the charge pump in 2:1 mode over the widest possible operating range and automatically switching to 1:1 mode when required depending on VIN and load conditions.
