The BD71850MWV-E2 programmable power management IC (PMIC) is a single-chip power solution for multi-core multimedia systems-on-chip (SoCs) such as the NXP i.MX 8M Nano application processor, integrating power to the processor, memory and system peripherals. Six buck converters and six general-purpose LDOs are integrated; when used in the 8M Nano, one of the buck converters and two of the LDOs can be used for user-defined purposes. The buck converters operate at 1.5 MHz and 2 MHz, and each converter delivers up to 3A of current with 83%-95% efficiency. Five of the converters support DVFS for dynamic power optimisation.
