The BTN9970LVAUMA1 high-current motor driver pairs a p-channel high-side switch with an n-channel low-voltage side switch to form a half-bridge and adds an integrated circuit to protect the device. The IC also features microprocessor-compatible logic level inputs, current-sense diagnostics, slew rate adjustment, and dead-time generation. Over-temperature, over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, and short-circuit protection are part of the package. This multi-chip half-bridge configuration has two distinctive features: it generates neither charge-pump radiation nor cross-currents. The half-bridge can be combined with other devices to form H-bridge and three-phase drive configurations.
