The STM32WB10CCU5 multi-protocol wireless device embeds a Bluetooth Low Energy RF subsystem that uses the Arm®Cortex®-M4 CPU (called CPU1), where the host application resides, to interface with the general-purpose microcontroller subsystem.

The RF subsystem consists of an RF analogue front-end, a Bluetooth Low Energy block, a dedicated Arm®Cortex®-M0+ microcontroller (known as CPU2) and proprietary peripherals. The RF subsystem executes all Bluetooth Low Energy stacks, reducing the interaction with CPU1 to a high-level exchange.
