The MAX40056UAUA bi-directional current-sense amplifiers have a wide input common-mode range of -0.1V to +65V and provide -5V protection against negative inductive backlash voltages. The amplifiers are ideally suited for phase current monitoring of inductive loads where pulse width modulation is used to control drive voltage and current. Advanced techniques are used to help suppress common-mode input PWM edges at conversion rates up to and exceeding ±500 V/μs. The device has a common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 60 dB (typical) (50 V, ±500 V/μs input) and 140 dB DC.
