The OPT4001YMNT is a light/number sensor (single-chip illuminance meter) for measuring the intensity of visible light. The spectral response of the sensor is highly matched to the bright vision response of the human eye. A specially designed filter on the device removes the near-infrared component of common light sources in order to measure accurate light intensity.The output of the OPT4001YMNT is semi-logarithmic, with 9 binary logarithmic full-scale light ranges, each with a highly linear response, giving the PicoStar™ models a measurement capability of 312.5µlux to 83klux.This feature allows the light sensor to have a 28-bit effective dynamic range. With the built-in automatic full-scale range selection logic, the user does not need to choose the appropriate gain setting based on illumination level.
