The MAX16602GGN provides a high-density, flexible and scalable solution for powering an AI core or Intel® VR13.HC server CPU. This Maxim controller IC uses coupled inductors and an intelligent power stage IC to implement a high-efficiency core regulator with enhanced transient response and lower quiescent current. An additional single-phase output generates the VSA rail in the system. The entire circuit is a high-efficiency (8+1) multi-phase synchronous step-down converter with extensive state and parameter measurement capabilities. The controller also supports PWM paralleling to control up to 16 phases.
