The TCAL6416RTWR device provides general-purpose parallel input/output (I/O) expansion for two-wire bidirectional I 2C bus (or SMBus) protocols. The device operates from a supply voltage range of 1.08V to 3.6V (V CCI on the I 2C bus side) and 1.08V to 3.6V (V CCP) on the P port side. The device supports I 2C clock frequencies of 100kHz (standard mode), 400kHz (fast mode), and 1MHz (fast+ mode). When additional I/O is required for devices such as switches, sensors, pushbuttons, LEDs, fans, etc., an I/O expander such as the TCAL6416 provides a simple solution.
