BQ40Z50RSMR is a battery pack-based single-chip fully integrated solution that provides a range of functions such as power monitoring, protection and certification for 1, 2, 3 and 4 series lithium-ion or lithium polymer battery packs.

Using its integrated high-performance analog peripherals, the BQ40Z50 device measures the available capacity, voltage, current, temperature, and other key parameters of the lithium ion or lithium polymer battery, retains accurate data records, and reports this information to the system host controller through the SMBus v1.1 compatible interface.
