The TRF3722IRGZR device is a 400MHz to 4.2GHz orthogonal modulator with an integrated wideband PLL/VCO.

Description:

Texas Instruments' TRF3722 quadrature modulator with integrated PLL/VCO is a high performance direct conversion quadrature modulator with excellent linearity and low noise performance. The typical baseband common-mode voltage is 0.25V, which supports seamless connection to current source Dacs. This device integrates PLL and VCO to provide a local oscillator (LO) for the modulator. PLL and VCO provide superior phase noise performance to meet the most stringent transmission communication requirements. This device also provides an additional LO output to drive other modulators or downfrequency mixers. The high gain mode of the modulator can achieve gains up to a typical value of 3dB, and the low power mode is suitable for applications that require optimized power consumption.

• Integer N/ fraction N PLL

• Modulator supports frequency range from 400MHz to 4200MHz

• PLL and VCO support frequency ranges from 280MHz to 4100MHz

• OIP3 at 900MHz is 31 dBm

• OIP3 at 1800MHz is 30 dBm

• VCO 1800MHz open-loop phase noise: -141 dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset

• Independent LO output supports 1/2/4/8 frequency splitting

• Modulator low power and high gain modes

• Multiple power failure modes
