Overview

The THVD4411RGER is a highly integrated and robust multi-protocol transceiver that supports RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 physical layers. The device has a transmitter and a receiver and supports a 1T1R RS-232 port. In addition, the device integrates a transmitter and a receiver to support both half-duplex and full-duplex RS-485 ports. The MODE select pin supports shared bus and logical pins so that these protocols share a single common connector. Integrated terminations for RS-485 bus pins and RS-232 receiver inputs are provided so that a fully functional communication port is achieved without external components. These devices have a flutter rate selection function, so they can be used at two maximum speeds (based on SLR pin Settings).

- RS-485 half-duplex and full-duplex modes: 500kbps and 20Mbps

- ±8kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge and ±15kV air gap discharge

- ±4kV IEC 61000-4-4 Fast transient burst

• Turn off pins for very low current consumption in disabled state (typical value 10µA)

• Non-intrusive power-on/power-off for hot swap functions

• 1/8 unit load for RS-485 (up to 256 bus nodes)

Open circuit, short circuit and idle bus failure protection for RS-485 receivers

• Bus short circuit protection, heat off

• Wider ambient temperature range: -40°C to 125°C
