Overview:

ADP5360ACBZ-1-R7 Battery Management The PMIC integrates multiple functions to monitor output voltage for advanced battery management. The device features a high-performance linear charger for a single Li-Ion/Li-Poly battery with a programmable ultra-low static current coulometer. It also includes a battery protection circuit, an ultra-low static buck, a buck - boost switching regulator and a monitoring circuit. The ADP5360 charger operates at up to 6.8V to prevent spikes in the USB bus when disconnected or connected.

The ADP5360 has an internal isolated field effect transistor (FET) between the linear charger output and the battery node. When the device is in the condition of battery overcharge and overdischarge failure, all the protection functions of the battery are activated. The ADP5360 coulometer uses a voltage-based algorithm with an adaptive filter limiting solution. The coulometer reports the real-time state of Battery charge (SOC) of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries with ultra-low static current.


The ADP5360 step-down regulator operates at a 1.0MHz switching frequency in forced Pulse width modulation (FPWM) mode. In hysteresis mode, the regulator achieves excellent efficiency with low output power. The ADP5360 buck-boost regulator operates only in hysteresis mode with an output voltage less than or greater than the battery voltage. The ADP5360 monitoring circuit can monitor the voltage output of the regulator and provide a power-on reset signal for the system. The watchdog timer and external buttons reset the microprocessor.


The I2C compatible interface enables programming of all battery charging parameters, protection thresholds, step-down output voltage, and status bit read-back.
