Explanation

The LTC4451AV 40V 7A ideal diode uses an integrated N-channel power MOSFET to replace the high-performance Schottky diode. This device can easily combine the OR power supply to enhance system reliability and prevent reverse conduction.

The LTC4451AV can adjust the forward voltage at 15mV, thereby minimizing power consumption compared with Schottky diodes. In diode-OR applications, regulation can ensure a smooth current transmission without oscillation. When the power MOSFET is fully enhanced, the RDS(ON) of the transistor is 21mΩ. This power MOSFET features a rated forward conduction current of up to 7A while dissipating 1.34W of power. High-performance gate drivers with fast transient response can minimize forward power consumption and reverse current to the greatest extent. The VCC input allows the VIN to be as low as ground when operating in low-voltage applications. The LTC4451AV is available in a small 16-pin 2mm × 3mm LQFN package.
