The ADUM2201ARWZ is a dual-channel digital isolator that adopts ADI's iCoupler® technology. This isolation device integrates high-speed CMOS with single-chip air-core transformer technology and features superior performance characteristics compared to alternative devices such as optocouplers.
iCoupler devices do not use leds and photodiodes, and thus there are no design difficulties generally associated with optocouplers. The simple iCoupler digital interface and stable performance features can eliminate the problems that optocouplers usually have, such as uncertain current transfer ratio, nonlinear transfer function, and the influence of temperature and service life. These iCoupler products do not require external drivers or other discrete components. Furthermore, when the signal and data rates are comparable, the power consumption of the iCoupler device is only 1/10 to 1/6 of that of the optocoupler.
The ADUM2201ARWZ isolator offers two independent isolated channels, supporting two channel configurations and a maximum data rate of 10 Mbps (please refer to the "Ordering Guide"). This device can operate under a power supply voltage ranging from 3.0V to 5.5V, is compatible with low-voltage systems, and can achieve voltage conversion across isolation barriers. The ADUM2201ARWZ isolator features a patented refresh characteristic, ensuring no DC correctness during input logic conversion and under power-on/off conditions.
