Overview:

The ADP1650ACPZ is a very compact and efficient single white LED flash driver for high resolution camera phones that improves image and video quality in low light environments. The device integrates a programmable 1.5 MHz or 3 MHz synchronous inductor boost converter, I2C compatible interface, and 1500 mA current source. The high switching frequency supports the use of 1 mm high, low-cost, 1μH low-power inductors, and the current source allows the LED cathode to be grounded for enhanced heat dissipation, low EMI, and compact layout.

This LED driver is extremely efficient across the entire battery voltage range, maximizing the conversion efficiency of the input power to the LED power supply and reducing the battery current when flashing to a low level. Programmable DC battery current limiting securely enables all LED VFC compatible interfaces to support timer, current and status bit read-back programming features for operating condition monitoring and safety control.
