The NUD4700SNT1G is an electronic shunt that provides current bypassing in the event of an open-circuit fault in a single LED. LEDs themselves are relatively vulnerable to transient and surge conditions. In many applications, the high reliability of LED lighting must be maintained, such as in headlights, lighthouses, bridges, aircraft, runways, etc. In such cases, adding the low-cost NUD4700SNT1G ensures that the entire LED string does not go dark due to a single LED failure. The NUD4700SNT1G is also suitable for other loads requiring circuit continuity. The device is designed for use with 1 W LEDs (rated at 350 mA @ 3 V).
