The ZMID5203AE1R is an inductive position sensor IC with SENT output, designed for absolute rotation and linear motion sensing in automotive applications. The ZMID5203AE1R utilizes the physical principles of loop induction and eddy current to detect the position of a metal target sliding or rotating above a set of coils (consisting of one transmitter coil and two receiver coils). These three coils are usually printed as copper traces on the printed circuit board (PCB). Their arrangement causes the transmitter coil to induce a secondary voltage in the receiver coil, and this voltage depends on the position of the metal target above the coil. ZMID5203AE1R fully complies with the automotive standard AEC-Q100, Class 0, with an ambient temperature up to 150°C.
