The RG3M88B12B1GNL is an I2C/I3C multi-port hub device by (Renesas), with two I2C/I3C master side ports and up to eight I2C/IC slave side ports. The RG3M88B12B1GNL device offers connections to up to two master stations and up to eight slave stations. By cascading and replaying the RG3M88B12B1GNL, users can build an RG3M88B12B1GNL hub network to provide connections with multiple devices, have a longer coverage distance, and operate using different levels of I2C, I3C, and SMBus protocols.

In the RG3M88B12B1GNL device, each master-side port is associated with an on-chip I2C/I3C slave interface. Each I2C/I3C interface accesses the on-chip registers. Master-master communication is achieved through shared registers and IBI channels within the port.
