The TJA1044T is a member of the Mantis series of high-speed CAN transceivers. It provides an interface between the CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. This transceiver is specifically designed for high-speed CAN applications in the automotive industry, enabling the CAN protocol controller (in the microcontroller) to transmit and receive differential signals. The CAN bus exhibits ideal passive performance when the power is disconnected.
The TJA1044T features an ultra-low current standby mode with bus wake-up functionality, offering excellent electromagnetic compatibility even without a common-mode inductor. Models with a VIO pin can be directly connected to microcontrollers with a power supply voltage of 3.3V to 5V
These features make the TJA1044T an ideal choice for all types of high-speed CAN networks, particularly for nodes requiring low-power modes and wake-up functionality via the CAN bus.
The TJA1044T implements the CAN physical layer as defined in the current 11898-2:2016 and SAE J2284-1 to SAE J2284-5 standards. The TJA1044T supports data transfer rates up to 1 Mbit/s. Other models also define other timing parameters for loop delay symmetry. In CAN FD fast mode, it enables reliable communication even at data rates up to 5 Mbit/s.
