The TJA1049T is a high-speed CAN transceiver that provides an interface between the CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. This transceiver is specifically designed for high-speed CAN applications in the automotive industry, enabling the CAN protocol controller (in the microcontroller) to transmit and receive differential signals.
The TJA1049T is the third-generation high-speed CAN transceiver introduced by NXP, offering significant performance improvements compared to first- and second-generation devices such as the TJA1040.

Low Power Management
Standby Mode: Extremely low static current, supports bus wake-up and host wake-up, suitable for battery-powered systems.
Automatically disconnects from the bus when power is off to prevent abnormal power consumption.
Wide voltage compatibility: 4.75V to 5.25V power supply, with some models (e.g., TJA1049T/3) supporting direct connection to 3V to 5V microcontrollers.
High reliability protection mechanisms
High ESD protection on bus pins (±8kV HBM).
TXD dominant timeout protection to prevent bus lockup.
