The TJA1057GT is a member of the Mantis family of high-speed CAN transceivers. It provides an interface between the Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. The transceiver is dedicated to high-speed CAN applications in the automotive industry, providing the ability to send and receive differential signals to and from the CAN protocol controller (in the microcontroller).
The TJA1057GT introduces a feature set optimised for use in 12V automotive applications, with significant improvements over NXP's first and second generation CAN transceivers, such as the TJA1050, and better electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performance.
The TJA1057GT also exhibits the ideal passive performance of the CAN bus when disconnected from power.

The TJA1057B and TJA1057C models have shorter propagation delays and support larger network topologies.
Models with VIO pins enable direct connection of 3.3V to 5V microcontrollers. Models without a VIO pin can connect to 3.3V and 5V powered microcontrollers as long as the microcontroller I/O tolerance voltage is 5V.
