The NA555DR device is a precision timing circuit capable of achieving accurate delay times and oscillation. In delay time or monostable mode, the timing interval is controlled by a single external resistor and capacitor network. In astable mode, the frequency and duty cycle are independently controlled by two external resistors and a single external capacitor.
Each timer has a trigger level approximately equal to one-third of the supply voltage and a threshold level approximately equal to two-thirds of the supply voltage. These levels can be adjusted using the control voltage pin (CONT). When the trigger input (TRIG) is below the trigger level, the trigger is set and the output goes high. If TRIG is above the trigger level and the threshold input (THRES) is above the threshold level, the trigger is reset and the output goes low. The reset input (RESET) has priority over all other inputs and is used to initiate a new timing cycle. If RESET is low, the trigger is reset and the output goes low. As long as the output is low, a low-impedance path is provided between the discharge pin (DISCH) and the ground pin (GND). All unused inputs should be connected to appropriate logic levels to prevent unintended triggering.
The output circuit can drive up to 200mA sink or source current. The power supply rated operating voltage is 5V to 15V. When the supply voltage is 5V, the output level is compatible with TTL inputs.
