The AD4190-4BCPZ is a low-noise, fully integrated analog front-end, suitable for high-precision measurement applications. This device contains a low-noise, 24-bit Σ-Δ analog-to-digital converter (ADC), which can be configured as four differential inputs or eight single-ended or pseudo-differential inputs. The on-chip low-noise gain stage ensures that small-amplitude signals can be directly transmitted to the ADC.
In addition, the AD4190-4BCPZ offers the highest degree of signal chain integration. It contains an internal reference and accepts two external differential references for internal buffering. Other major integrated functions include:
Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA) Due to the programmable gain (0.5 to 128), PGA allows for direct connection to sensors with low output amplitudes, such as resistance Bridges, thermocouples, and resistance temperature detectors (RTDS).
PGA has a very wide common-mode input range, which provides designers with greater margin to deal with a wide range of changing input common-modes.
A precision current source with low drift and good matching. Use an excitation current source to excite 2-wire, 3-wire and 4-wire RTD or bridge sensors. The excitation current output options include 10μA, 50μA, 100μA, 250μA, 500μA, 1mA and 1.5mA. If a higher current is required, the current can also be increased.
The low-end power switch (PDSW) can be used to turn off the bridge sensor between conversions.
The VBIAS source of the thermocouple sets the common-mode voltage of the channel to (AVDD + AVSS)/2.
The intelligent timing controller can pre-order the conversion of each enabled pre-configured channel, thereby supporting interlaced hybrid sensors, system checks, and diagnostic measurements. With the timing controller, there is no need to repeat serial interface communication with the suite to change the configuration. Configure 16 channels in sequence. Each channel can be selected from eight user-defined ADC Settings, allowing for the selection of gain, filter type, output data rate, buffer, and reference source.
