The AD9259ABCPZ-50 is a 4-channel, 14-bit, 50 MSPS analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) with built-in on-chip sample-and-hold circuitry designed for low cost, low power, small size and ease of use. With conversion rates up to 50 MSPS, the product offers outstanding dynamic performance and low-power characteristics, making it interesting for applications with small package sizes.
The ADC requires a single 1.8 V supply and an LVPECL/CMOS/LVDS-compatible sample-rate clock signal in order to operate at full performance. For most applications, no external reference voltage source or driver device is required.
The ADC automatically multiplies the sample rate clock to obtain the proper LVDS serial data rate. It provides a Data Clock Output (DCO) to capture data at the output and a Frame Clock Output (FCO) to signal a new output byte. It also supports independent shutdown of each channel; typical power consumption is less than 2 mW when all channels are disabled.
The ADC has a variety of built-in features that allow for greater flexibility and lower system cost, such as programmable clock and data alignment and generation of programmable digital test codes. Available digital test codes include built-in fixed and pseudo-random codes, as well as user-defined test codes input via the serial port interface (SPI).
The AD9259ABCPZ-50 is available in a RoHS-compliant 48-pin LFCSP package. It is rated over the -40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range.
