The AD4854BBCZ is a fully buffered, 8-channel synchronous sampling, 16-bit, 1 MSPS data acquisition system (DAS) with differential, wide common model range input. Its functional architecture is shown in Figure 1. The AD4857 is powered by a 5 V low voltage power supply and flexible input buffer power supply, and uses precision low drift internal reference and reference buffer, allowing the SoftSpan range of each channel to be configured independently to match the native application signal swing, thereby minimizing additional external signal conditioning.

To further maximize single-transition dynamic range, the AD4857 uses seamless High Dynamic range (SHDR) technology. When enabled, the input signal path gain of the channel is automatically optimized on a sample-by-sample basis, minimizing converter noise on each sample without affecting linearity.

The AD4857 has a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) register configuration bus (0.9V to 5.25V) and supports a low voltage differential signal bus (LVDS) and complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) conversion data output bus, which can be selected using LVDS/CMOS pins. From 1 to 8 data output lines are available in CMOS mode, allowing users to optimize bus width and throughput.
