Product Description

The MSP430I2040TPWR microcontroller (MCU) is part of the MSP430 metrology and monitoring product family. The architecture and integrated peripherals are combined with five low-power modes and optimised for extended battery life in portable and battery-powered measurement applications. The device features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers and constant generator to help achieve maximum coding efficiency. A digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) allows the device to wake up from low-power mode to active mode in less than 5µs.

The MSP430I2040TPWR MCU includes four high-performance 24-bit sigma-delta ADCs, two eUSCIs (an eUSCI_A module and an eUSCI_B module), two 16-bit timers, a hardware multiplier and up to 16 I/O pins.

Typical applications for the devices include: power measurement, analogue and digital sensor systems, LED lighting, digital power supplies, motor control, remote control, temperature regulation devices, digital timers and handheld instruments.
