The LNK6404D is a high performance, precision, primary regulated constant voltage/constant current (CV/CC) switcher for adapters and chargers.The LinkSwitch™-3 family of integrated circuits eliminates the need for an optocoupler and secondary control circuitry, dramatically simplifying the design of low power CV/CC chargers. The devices introduce a revolutionary control technique that provides very precise output voltage and current regulation, compensating for transformer and internal parameter tolerances as well as input voltage variations.

The device integrates a 725 V power MOSFET, a novel on/off control state machine, a high-voltage switched current source for self-biasing, frequency dithering, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and hysteretic thermal shutdown circuitry on a monolithic IC.
