Product Description

The ADIS16577-2BMLZ is a precision microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) inertial measurement unit (IMU) that includes a three-axis gyroscope and a three-axis accelerometer.Each of the inertial sensors in the ADIS16577 has integrated signal conditioning to optimise dynamic performance. Factory calibration characterises the sensitivity, bias and calibration of each sensor. As a result, each sensor has a dynamic compensation formula that provides accurate sensor measurements under a variety of conditions.


The ADIS16577-2BMLZ provides a simple, cost-effective method for integrating accurate multi-axis inertial sensing into industrial systems, especially when compared to the complexity and investment of discrete designs. All necessary motion testing and calibration is part of the factory production process, significantly reducing system integration time. Strict quadrature alignment simplifies inertial frame alignment in navigation systems. Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) and register architecture provide a simple interface for data acquisition and configuration control.


The ADIS16577-2BMLZ is available in an aluminium modular package measuring approximately 24.30 mm × 22.40 mm × 13.70 mm with a 14-lead connector interface.

Range options of ±450°/sec and ±2000°/sec are available.

Operational bias stability of 2.0°/hr at ±450°/sec range.

Angular random wander of 0.2°/√hr at ±450°/sec range.

Inter-axis alignment error of ±0.05°.

Three-axis digital accelerometer sensing:

Full range available at ±8g, ±14g and ±40g.

Operational bias stability is 2.9 μg in the ±8g range.

Three-axis incremental angle and incremental velocity outputs.

Factory calibrated sensitivity, bias and axial alignment:

Calibration temperature range: -40°C to +85°C.

SPI-compatible data communications.

Programmable operation and control:

Automatic and manual bias calibration control.

Data-ready indication for synchronised data acquisition.

External synchronised data sampling/processing.

On-demand self-test for inertial sensors and flash memory.

Continuous real-time health monitoring of SRAM and sensors.

FIFO, 512 samples, up to 4kHz sampling rate.

Single supply operation (VDD): 3.0 V to 3.6 V.
